GOODFELLOWS FOOD DRIVE

The Goodfelloows Food Drive is an annual charity service program that is run by our post, that provides a box of food, consisting of about four meals, to a family or individual in need every Christmas season.

For our drive in 2022: Goodfellows Club in its 98th year of continued service was a firm success, thanks to all of you,  our contributors.  Our Post members and the community responded to the needs of the less fortunate at Christmastime with meals for 1008+ families.  Even with our added expectations this year, we received enough cash donations to pay the bills and enable us to seed the 2022 effort with a reserve. I estimate over 70 children and parents helped us pack and distribute the food boxes. One of our members had the means to give $2000. This

year will have a new partner to supply the food. Bargain Foods in Pelzer, S.C. has graciously stepped up to fill the loss of the Bi-Lo grocery chain we worked with for so many years.

Our annual Goodfellows Food Drive for this past Christmas season was a success, with over 1008 boxes of food distributed. Our level of donations was low this year, though. Please consider a donation of any amount to this worthy cause.

Donations may be mailed to:

The Goodfellows Club, P.O. Box 133, Greenville, SC 29602.

Credit or debit card donations are accepted.

Goodfellows starts on Thanksgiving day.  We will have a posting of donors in the Greenville News again this year.  If you want to participate in Goodfellows this year we will be packing food boxes on Thursday, December 22 at 6 pm, passing out the boxes on Friday, the 23rd at 8 am and receiving donation anytime.  Our financial goal is $51,000.  The cost of a box of food is just over $50.  We will distribute over 1000 boxes.

If you know of a post member or veteran that can be blessed by receiving a box of food please contact the Post Adjutant, Don Patterson.  One position we would like to have this year is delivery.  Several of our members cannot make their way to the TD Center and need their food delivered.  Please contact us if you can help on the 22nd.
